Using the color dialog you can select colors and save project based colors.

| Color selector | The color selector consists of a color plane and a color bar. The color plane displays the possible color spectrum of the the selected color parameter, with a small circle marking the currently selected color. You can move this circle with your mouse to select another color in the color plane. The color bar shows the colors you will get by changing the value of the selected color parameter. A little arrow indicates the selected value. You can click in the color bar to change this value. |
| Current and new color | In these boxes the current and the new color are displayed. The current color is the initial color that was passed when opening the dialog and will be kept if you decide to cancel the action. |
| HSB parameters | Parameters of the HSB color model |
| Lab parameters | Parameters of the Lab color model |
| RGB parameters | Parameters of the RGB color model |
| CMYK values | Values of the CYMK color model |
| Save colors | In this area you can define project based colors |
| Basic colors | Quick selection of frequently used colors |
In the RGB color model the single colors are defined by their red (R), green (G) and blue (B) quota. To each parameter a value from 0 to 255 can be assigned.
You can select each of these parameters by activating the corresponding option button:
| Red | Depending on the green and blue quota of the position marked in the color plane, a preview of the colors when changing the red quota will be displayed in the color bar (bottom-up). The blue quota in the color plane increases from left to right, the green quota from the bottom up. |
| Green | Depending on the blue and red quota of the position marked in the color plane, a preview of the colors when changing the green quota will be displayed in the color bar (bottom-up). The blue quota in the color plane increases from left to right, the red quota from the bottom up. |
| Blue | Depending on the red and green quota of the position marked in the color plane, a preview of the colors when changing the blue quota will be displayed in the color bar (bottom-up). The red quota in the color plane increases from left to right, the green quota from the bottom up. |
Below the field to change the blue quota there is another textbox where the hexadecimal RGB value of the color can be edited directly.
In the CMYK color model the colors are defined by their cyan, magenta, yellow and key (black) value. You can directly enter these values in the corresponding fields.
In the HSB color model all colors are deifned by hue, saturation and brightness.
| Hue | Angle of the color in the color circle (0-359) |
| Saturation | Saturation in percent (0-100) |
| Brightness | Brightness in percent (0-100) |
You can select each of these parameters by activating the corresponding option button:
| Hue (H) activated | In the color bar all colors with a saturation and brightness of 100 percent are displayed, corresponding to the hue angle (bottom-up). In the color plane the saturation increases from left to right and the brightness from bottom up. |
| Saturation (S) activated | Depending on the selected position in the color plane, the colors with different saturation but the same hue and brightness are displayed in the color bar (bottom-up). In the color plane the hue increases from left to right and the brightness from bottom up. |
| Brightness (B) activated | Depending on the selected position in the color plane, the colors with different brightness but the same hue and saturation are displayed in the color bar (bottom-up). In the color plane the hue increases from left to right and the saturation from bottom up. |
In the Lab color models all colors are defined by the following parameters:
| Lightness (L) | The value of the lightness (0-100) |
| a-dimension (a) | Defines the green / red quota of the color (negative values: green, positive values: red) |
| b- dimension (b) | Defines the blue / yellow quota of the color (negative values: blue, positive values: yellow) |
Click on one of the 48 frequenly used basic colors to select it.
In the color dialog you can define and save up to eight project based colors. Click on one of the
